Who are we?
Training with Heatwave Hoops is lead by Fernando Barron. Fernando has experience playing at the collegiate level in the United States as well as several years in Germany. Fernando also has experience coaching ASC Theresianum Mainz's Second Bundesliga Women's Basketball team. He has also coached u12, u16, and u18 teams. In addition, for the past seven years, Fernando has spent his summer coaching at NBC basketball camps in Washington State and Alaska.
Why Heatwave Hoops?
The name Heatwave Hoops is more meaningful than originally meets the eye. The goal here is to create a culture of making big improvements and jumps in skill over the summer, but to also carry that heat into the rest of the year. Much too often, basketball players go cold in their individual improvement during the season due to busy practice schedules and a lot of game play. Heatwave Hoops hopes to provide you with a plan to integrate skill development into your season and off-season alike.
What do we do?
With Heatwave Hoops, our goal is to provide athletes with the resources and training they need to level up their game. Training will be with Fernando Barron and can be booked in group settings or individually. Training will include assessment of your current skill and a plan for personal growth, both on the court and in the weight room. Training sessions will be from 5:30-7:00 am in Theresianum Gymnasium Mainz, and you can book one session or several if dates remain available. Please see the pricing page for more information.
